The ideal candidate will support the core values and core focus of Columbia Academy while actively seeking to improve the school community. Build a sense of belonging with everyone entering the school and initiate new family relationships. Research and further develop the current best practices for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Oversee implementation of the curriculum and maintain community relations while ensuring all staff have clear expectations and are held accountable for customer satisfaction. Be a life-long learner and a mentor to your staff. Help develop your employees ‘unique talents and encourage their passion for Early Childhood Education.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or a closely related field.
- 90 Hour Child Care Certification
- 45 Hour Infant and Toddler Certification
- 45 Hour Director Administrative Course or willingness to take
- Experience with Procare (Preferred)
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience with children ages six weeks to five years.
- Minimum of two years administrative experience in Early Childhood Education
- Experience presenting and leading large group meetings
- Experience responding to and resolving staff, student, and parent concerns
- Experience developing or implementing classroom management strategies focused on positive reinforcement
- Knowledge of MSDE and Office of Child Care licensing regulations
- Physical ability for activities with children, i.e. jump, dance, walk and run
