Adjunct Instructor – Drawing
Location: Columbia Day Campus
Department:  Visual Arts and Music

Job Type:  Academic, Part-time
Pay: $2,150-$2,350 stipend to be paid on a prorated basis per pay period for duration of course, depending on the number of students enrolled (Pay range may vary based on geographic location)

Job Description:
Columbia, Missouri Day Campus seeks an Adjunct (part-time) instructor to teach our ARTS 120: Drawing I course in-seat in the Spring 2024 semester. The course is scheduled to run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12:20-2:20PM in our drawing studio.
 
ARTS 120: Drawing I introduces students to draw from direct observation. Some of the major topics covered include: basic concept and drawing techniques, proportion and measurements, basic form and symmetrical structure, modeling (light and shade, value scale, value contrast), gesture drawing, plainer analysis of human form, foreshortening, portrait, composition, skeletal and muscular structure, subtractive method, cropping, and scale.
 
Qualifications:  
MFA or a terminal degree in Drawing, or a closely related field, is required. Candidates with knowledge of professional practices and collegiate experience teaching foundation-level drawing courses is also preferred.
