Deputy Warden
Job Posting for Deputy Warden at Columbia County
Assists with direction and administration of prison programs, and provides leadership to ensure safety and security inside Prison; Assumes full charge of Prison in absence of Prison Warden.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following other duties may be assigned.
- Monitors intake/discharge of inmates; reviews classification of inmates; resolves inmate grievances; responds to inmate requests.
- Directs crisis intervention or advises on intervention techniques or policy; meets with inmates where special counsel is required; administers discipline.
- Ensures inmate support functions are provided, i.e. medical, education and therapeutic counseling.
- Resolves operational problems regarding housing, transportation, etc; ensures physical plant and corollary systems remain operationally functional and secure.
- Maintains records and reports: updating personnel records, preparing records of expenditures and receipts, preparing reports required by State agency.
- Stays abreast of changes in laws and regulations: researching current issues, recommending changes in major areas of policy to Prison Warden; preparing directives and forms, communicating to staff.
- Arranges for inmate transportation in conjunction with Sheriff's office.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
