What are the responsibilities and job description for the Call Center Representative position at Columbia Skin Clinic?
PRIMARY DUTIES OF THE POSITION: Provide a high level of customer service to each person that calls. Schedule and confirm patient appointments for each office location. Cancel and reschedule appointments, give routine non-medical information to patients and family members in preparation for visit. Provide directions to new patients, verify participating insurance plans, verify appropriate referral authorization, take payments, and handle referral appointments from other physicians’ offices, work-in appointments when needed.
Answer telephone calls and provide callers with information about the practice within the limits of practice policy. Route clinical questions and emergency calls to appropriate clinical staff or physician in accordance with practice policy.
Verify and update identification and insurance data for established patients. Communicate any changes by entering information into patients' EMR. Create new patient accounts.
Reschedule physicians’ appointment schedule when needed.
Follow up with all company and department policies and procedures.
Complete other duties as assigned.
Cross train in other departments.
