JOB TITLE: Title Searcher (Full-time) $15 to $20 per hour.
With over 30 years of experience, Columbia Title offers comprehensive title and closing services to real estate professionals, buyers and sellers throughout Indiana. Our Title Searchers are responsible for searching for titles, real estate records and compiling a list of mortgages and other contracts.
This position does NOT require a background in title searching. It does require great attention to detail though!
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Search for and verify titles. 2. Search real estate records. 3. Compile lists of mortgages, contracts and other instruments pertaining to titles by searching public records. 4. Search, analyze and evaluate records relating to titles of homes, land and buildings. 5. Ensure that the title to a property in question has no restrictions that may prevent or hinder its sale or use. 6. Examine deeds, mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, and plats/maps to determine ownership, encumbrances and to verify legal descriptions of property. 7. Analyze chain of title and preparation of reports outlining title-related matters. 8. Prepare property reports and title commitments.
COMPENSATION & HOURS:
Hourly wage will be commensurate with experience. Paid vacation and holidays. Monday-Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm. This position may require some overtime during peak season.
