Job Description

Core Responsibilities

As a technical leader on the Experience Video Platform Team, you will help design and lead the development of the next generation of Comcast Video microservices.

• Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements in a distributed setup.
• Provide technical leadership and a long term vision, driving from the design process through to implementation and delivery.
• Serve as Mentor and Coach for a team of 2-4 SRE engineers, actively encouraging their ongoing career growth.
• Advocate for metric based view on distributed systems and other SRE principles across teams.

Employees at all levels are expected to:

• You have experience as a Software Engineer before becoming a Manager.
• Experience in some of: Java or Python, Object Oriented & Reactive programming, the Spring Framework and RESTful architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud computing (eg. AWS, GCP, Azure, Cloudfoundry, OpenStack) and observability (logging, metrics, tracing) concepts.
• An understanding of the HTTP protocol and associated caching techniques.
• Strong technical written and verbal communication skills.
• A sense of ownership, initiative, and a love of learning!
• A knowledge of Agile procesess and experience acting as a team lead or scrum master.
• A vision for more resiliency and desire to make it happen

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
