Job Summary

Using skills in Oracle, Incorta, and HUB2U, the person in this position is responsible for purchasing complex or unusual materials, supplies and services for the Chicago Region for all positions field related. I.E. Construction, Technical Operations, Network, etc. The person in this position performs various financial analyses using Microsoft Excel Reports (PivotTable, VLOOKUP), Tableau; forecasts and inventory purchasing and monitoring; and prepares reports. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge. This position is Virtual Chicagoland.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Leads all aspects of forecasting, stocking, and shipping of materials including resolving proof of deliveries. Submits requisitions to order and generates purchase orders.
  • Resolves spending vs. budget discrepancies with financial personnel. Projects capital spending and completes variance analysis. Participates in capital budgeting process.
  • Compiles and maintains statistics and other data for negotiations. Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
  • Reviews requests and acquires quotes from standard vendors and builds purchase requisitions.
  • Leads and mentors Buyers in an independent contributor role.
  • Processes purchase orders for materials, supplies and services and communicates purchase order details to end user. Expedites solutions for back-ordered materials.
  • Meets with standard vendors on a regular basis.
  • Reports vertically and horizontally weekly regarding readouts on materials, SOP, and SOP changes. May develop PPT for calls and/or Job Aid on changes to SOP.
  • Receives equipment; performs asset management; enters data into asset management database; and delivers equipment to the appropriate end user.
  • Assists in supplier and contractor negotiations. Compiles and maintains statistics and other data for negotiations.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime.

Education

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
