Comet is looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Head of People.
This position is located at the USA East Coast, preferably NYC.
They will be a key member of the Comet executive team and will provide leadership to the People function as we continue to scale our rapidly growing organization.
The Head of People will be responsible for leading cross-functional initiatives to discover, attract, motivate, and retain incredible talent in our sites around the world.
We're looking for someone with strong business experience who understands how to build and map our talent to our mission to help enterprise companies drive business value from AI. You will have the pulse of the company, ensuring we have the right people in the right roles, growing their impact.
You will work to create a best-in-class experience for all Comet's employees, including Engagement, Learning & Development, Performance, Retention, & Recognition, and culture.
Salary range: Base $180-250k
Responsibilities:
- Lead Comet's people efforts globally (US, Israel, and Europe)
- Drive a culture of collaboration, transparency, and performance in a high-growth start-up environment
- Lead key initiatives including recruiting, performance management, training & development, rewards & recognition, and employee engagement
- Manage initiatives at every level of the people organization – strategic, operational, and tactical – to define a best-in-class employee experience
- Utilize data to solve complex organizational challenges through people-centric solutions
- Compliance: Stay up to date with HR-related legal guidelines to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
- Ability to build for a long term, but also able to find efficient short-term solutions
- Sponsor culture, engagement, and DEI efforts that are committed to fostering a positive culture of inclusiveness and excitement
- Develop and maintain continuous feedback, training, and reward & recognition programs for all teams
- Ensure that total compensation processes like salary benchmarking, salary adjustments, promotions, job evaluation, salary structure design, and job analysis are defined and undertaken regularly
- Create annual plans, goals, and KPIs for the People team
- Ease communicating to all levels of the organization – from the executive team to junior members
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- 8 years of comparable experience building out a people function in a high-growth global SaaS startup environment
- 3 years of management experience
- Proven ability to design and implement people strategies that drive business results.
- Strong work ethic with confidence to work autonomously.
- Highly motivated to succeed both individually and with a young and fast-growing company.
- Track record of building dynamic and engaging employee culture in globally distributed teams
- Passion for working in a fast-paced, ambiguous work environment with minimal guidance
- Experience designing and implementing HR systems and processes in the function of employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, or training
- Known for creating structure & resolving challenges without being told exactly what to do – balancing when to toggle between getting into the weeds vs. keeping it high-level
- Interest in working in a data-driven organization with fast-paced decision-making
- Knowledge about HR practices and employment legislation
- Enjoyment operating as much as strategizing, with proficiency in both strong communication skills, written and verbal
