Job Summary:
Laundry personnel are responsible for performing the tasks that keep the hotel housekeepers supplied with clean sheets, towels and other linens. Cleans public areas of hotel during shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleans and organizes housekeeping storage rooms in laundry areas.
- Sorts, loads washing machines and dryers and folds linens and towels.
- Sweeps and mops laundry room floors.
- Dusts and cleans counters, tables, equipment in laundry areas.
- Washes windows, walls, doors, sills and other surfaces in laundry room.
- Empties laundry room trash receptacles and takes trash to the dumpster.
- Perform linen removal in guest rooms to assist housekeepers.
- Performs other janitorial services assigned by the housekeeping supervisor.
- After folding the laundry, stocks storage rooms with linens and towels.
- Cleans and Sanitizes restrooms and replenishes restroom supplies.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to tend to details
- Capable of working without close supervision
Minimum Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to see, talk, hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move and apply force of 25-50 pounds. The employee will also be bending and stooping throughout the course of their shift.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Proof of High School Diploma or GED
Minimum Language Requirements:
Have the ability to read and write simple instructions. Must be able to speak English in order to communicate with customers.
Minimum Mathematical Requirements:
Have the ability to work with simple math such as counting, addition and subtraction.
Minimum Reasoning Skills Requirements: Ability to define problems, and know to seek advice and assistance from the supervisor.
Working Conditions: Work is performed throughout the property. The noise level is low-high. Employee has some risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
