• Overview* Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924 CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery a level II neonatal intensive care unit a nationally accredited cancer center comprehensive neurosurgery advanced orthopedic program and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.

• Responsibilities:* Plans and prepares foods according to recipes and time schedules. Works as a team member in pre-preparation, preparation, portioning, and storage of food. Assists on patient tray assembly line. Exercises quality control, including portion sizes and temperature standards. Monitors refrigerator and freezer temperatures in designated work areas. Logs information on production sheets and other records required in the department. Assists in food product evaluation, test trays, and environmental sanitation inspections. Maintains a high standard of sanitation in area of responsibility to comply with hospital management, local and state inspectors, JCAHO and CMS. Cleans and maintains all equipment and work areas. Takes care of hospital equipment and reports any equipment that is not working properly or equipment that is not safe.
• Qualifications*
• Required:* FHP:NE certification Good cooking skills with restaurant or institutional background. Ability to read and write. Ability to calculate amounts of ingredients when adjusting recipes. Ability to interpret written instructions and follow through with oral instructions. Complete Food Services Sanitation class or inservice. Preferred: Previous food service and major equipment operations experience.
• Pay Range* $14.78 - $20.33 /hour
