What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Bariatric Ortho Surgical Acute position at CommonSpirit Health?
Come join our very fast paced 30-bed Ortho/Bariatric/Thoracic Surgical Unit! This Unit is situated in the New Tower of the Medical Center and houses a large population of joint replacement patients. This unit is proud to be a Center of Excellence for hip and knee replacement surgery designated by the Joint Commission. Our bariatric surgery patients are at the receiving end of our expertise as a result of our Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program. The primary focus of this unit is orthopedic bariatric thoracic and general surgery patients. This dynamic Unit also has telemetry capability and utilizes all of the evidence-based practices of the Nursing Bundle.
The incumbent provides coordinates and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. Each RN is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team providing leadership personal/professional development and conducting him/herself professionally. The incumbent shall demonstrate behaviors consistent with the core (Mercy) values in support with Mercy San Juan Medical Center and the Mission and Philosophy of Dignity Health.

Minimum:
- Current CA RN licensure
- 1 year RN experience in an acute care hospital
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association
- Other certifications may be required
