As a Clinical Educator at California Hospital Medical Center you will be part of a dynamic team collaborating on innovative ways to bring knowledge and expertise to the bedside. This position, while focused on Critical Care and Emergency Services, is part of a much bigger picture, developing our frontline staff to excel in clinical judgment while delivering exceptional patient care. Our new patient tower will be home to an expanded Emergency Department, Women's Services, and NICU, creating opportunity for exciting changes in care delivery.
You will work with and be supported by vibrant and seasoned peers who are passionate, understanding, and knowledgeable about education in the acute care setting, sharing more than 60 years of education experience. The expertise in nursing specialties within the department include Maternal Child Health, Emergency Services, Neuro/Medical Telemetry, Advanced Practice, Critical Care and Medical Surgical areas.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable, confident, and understand integrating evidence based practice in educational experiences. You need to be an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It is also important for you to be comfortable with both creating and implementing change. Experience with in-servicing, just in time education delivery, and use of Learning Management Systems (i.e., Cornerstone, Canvas, Healthstream, etc) is preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Identify, prioritize, and evaluate the educational and professional development needs within the Critical Care and Emergency Services service lines.
- Facilitate, develop, and/or deliver in conjunction with subject matter experts and the Administrative Education Department clinical educational programs, including specialty training, new graduate/hire training, and continuing education to hospital staff.
- Serve as leader, role model and teammate.
- Ensure your areas of responsibility are prepared to deliver the best care possible to our patients.
- High level of engagement with the floor- visibly connecting with nurses, ancillary partners and leaders.
- Application of working knowledge of adult learning principles
- Assistance with planning and implementation of curriculum
- CA Licensed Registered Nurse
- BSN required, MSN preferred
- BLS, ACLS & PALS required, instructor status preferred
- CCRN or CEN preferred or will obtain within 6 months of starting
- Minimum of 3 years experience with a high degree of knowledge and competency in critical care or Emergency Nursing required.
- Working knowledge of adult learning principles and curriculum planning preferred.
- Project management planning experience preferred
