Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924 CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery a level II neonatal intensive care unit a nationally accredited cancer center comprehensive neurosurgery advanced orthopedic program and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.
The ICU at CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 24 bed unit. We take care of any critical care patient and specialize in high acuity care. We strive to leverage technology and highly skilled nurses to allow our community and surrounding areas to receive health care close to home. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high quality patient care while working with a skilled team of providers in a fast paced dynamic environment.
Compensation: Base rate shift differential
Incentives: $25,000 sign on bonus till June 30th, up to $10,000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years)
Responsibilities
This position requires you to work every weekend. We have premium weekend differentials for this position.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient’s individual physician. This will involve, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.
Additional responsibilities for this health care role include:
- Monitoring patients’ conditions and assessing their needs
- Collaborating with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
- Administering patients’ medications and providing treatments according to physicians’ orders
- Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- ACLS and PALS required within 5 months of hire
