Lake Barkley State Resort Park is located on Lake Barkley in Cadiz, Kentucky. Named after the former Vice President, Alben Barkley, the park is located just minutes from Land Between the Lakes and its 267 square miles of outdoor recreation. This resort park is situated near Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, a 170,000-acre wooded peninsula bound by Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. Our award-winning staff prepares the freshest foods. Windows on the Water is dedicated to bring the best of western Kentucky hospitality. The Dining Room Supervisor manages operations of all Food and Beverage service, so as to deliver an excellent guest experience. Preference will be given to the candidate who demonstrates experience in leading a team in a food service environment and a passion for delivering exceptional levels of guest service.
Specifically, the Dining Room Supervisor’s duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Specifically, the Dining Room Supervisor’s duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manages all guest service operations in Windows on the Water Restaurant as well as other dining areas throughout the park
- Maintains exceptional levels of customer service
- Ensures compliance of park standards
- Assists in the recruitment of the Dining Room team as well as manage, train and develop each individual member of the team
- Handles guest concerns and comments in a timely and courteous manner
- Works with the Chef and Park Management to stay within budgeted guidelines in relation to food, liquor costs and payroll
- Sets departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures
- Assists in developing menus with other members of Dining Room, Kitchen, and Park Management team
- Accountable for regular dining room supply inventories. Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies of dishes, utensils, etc. in all dining areas throughout the park
- Works to lead and work with other team members to maximize sales and revenue in the restaurant and other dining areas
- Carries out annual and mid-year appraisals with team members under your responsibility
- Evaluates guest satisfaction levels with a focus on continuous improvement
- Ensures communication channels are maintained and open with Kitchen and Group Sales personnel along with other supervisors and park management staff
- Be environmentally conscious while staying within the guidelines and budgetary goals of the park
- Maintain a valid KY Server Training in Alcohol Regulations (STAR) certification
- Management and/or supervisory food and beverage experience
- Ability to meet financial targets
- Ability to comply with all food and beverage park standards
- Ability to work under pressure
- Excellent grooming standards
- Willingness to develop team members and self
- Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
- Ability to work on your own or in teams
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of food service experience in any of the following areas: full-service restaurant, state resort park, hospital, commercial dining room.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Food service experience in any of the following areas will substitute for the education on year for year basis: full service restaurant, state resort park, hospital, or commercial dining room.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Works in dining room setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
