What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alcohol Education Specialist Trainee position at Commonwealth of PA?
The PA Liquor Control Board is seeking a highly motivated and specialized candidate for our Bureau of Alcohol Education's Responsible Alcohol Management Program Division. As an Alcohol Education Specialist Trainee, you will participate in a 12 month training program in order to obtain the skills and knowledge to become an Alcohol Education Specialist. This position offers a great office environment with a benefit package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, paid vacation and sick time, prescription, dental and visions plans.
In this position, you will observe Licensee Owner Manager Training as mandated by Act 141 for first three (3) months. You will assist in conducting and/or conduct wholly the Licensee Owner Manager Training as mandated by Act 141 for months four (4) to twelve (12).
You will review licensee Affidavit Requests for RAMP Certification online in PLCB . You will make recommendation regarding certification for supervisor’s approval and signature. In addition, you will also research, analyze and collect information regarding licensee’s mandate requirements.
You will represent the Board at various local and statewide events on an as needed basis. This involves giving presentations and fielding questions on RAMP and other alcohol - related topics.
You will also participate in the identification and development of strategic opportunities, programs, literature, educational materials, conferences, special projects, outreach efforts, and public events intended to convey responsible alcohol use within the community.
Full-time employment- Work hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday
- You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Experience and Training Requirements - A bachelor's degree; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training

Under the Law, employees having contact with children under 18 years of age obtain the following three clearances:
- Criminal history report from the PA State Police
- Child abuse history clearance from the Dept. of Human Services (Child Abuse)
- Fingerprint based federal criminal history submitted through the PA State Police or the FBI
- The initial cost for these clearances will be your responsibility. All renewal costs, which is every five years, will be paid for by the agency if appointed to the position.
