VCU has an exciting opportunity for an Enforcement and Safety Officer in VCU's Facilities Management for their Parking and Transportation unit. The Enforcement and Safety Officer enforces and monitors all VCU Parking and Transportation decks, lots, and other facilities and locations; provides assistance to subscribers, visitors, and our surrounding community partners; ensures compliance with University, state, and federal policies and that all Operations' services are delivered efficiently, reliably, and with service excellence to the VCU and VCU Health System communities.

VCU has an exciting opportunity for an Enforcement and Safety Officer in VCU's Facilities Management for their Parking and Transportation unit. The Enforcement and Safety Officer enforces and monitors all VCU Parking and Transportation decks, lots, and other facilities and locations; provides assistance to subscribers, visitors, and our surrounding community partners; ensures compliance with University, state, and federal policies and that all Operations' services are delivered efficiently, reliably, and with service excellence to the VCU and VCU Health System communities.
Multiple shifts available:
- Monday-Friday, 5:00am-1:30pm
- Saturday-Wednesday 7:00am-3:30pm
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Patrols all assigned facilities and properties daily to help ensure the safety of all patrons
- Acts as point of contact with the VCU police, MCVH Security, and other public safety agencies to implement the University's comprehensive safety plan when supervisor is not available
- Daily inspections of all assigned facilities and properties to ensure the cleanliness of those properties and reports any issues found
- Provides uniform interpretation and enforcement of parking regulations as trained
- Collects and reports vacancy counts for selected parking facilities daily to Enforcement Safety Supervisor
- Works with deck staff to ensure proper control and handling of special events, approved requests, or special assignments as assigned by supervisor
- Systematically monitors decks to ensure subscribers are afforded parking at their assigned location
Minimum Hiring Standards
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent required
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record of 0 or points
- Satisfactory completion of criminal history background check required
- Ability to successfully complete all training
- Possess excellent customer service skills
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule that may include weekends, holidays, and shift work
- Ability to interact with coworkers to accomplish the goals of the department and possess the ability to handle multiple incidents simultaneously, set priorities, and professionally and calmly handle stressful situations on a daily basis
- Basic computer and time management skills required
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
Preferred Hiring Standards
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge to perform basic maintenance and operation of pertinent equipment
Required Licensure/Certification
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record of 0 or points
