CommScope is hiring an Android Architect for our Home Networks Division. This is a 100% remote US based role.
How You'll Help Us Connect the World:
This role will be key contributor our Android Software Development team that designs and develops high-quality, professional software in the Video CPE product domain, including Android-based IP Set-Top Boxes and Android-based Hybrid Set-Top Boxes. More specifically this includes:
- Providing architectural guidance to the Android Software team, making critical architectural decisions that would impact the overall CommScope Android development plan
- Collaborate with Google, Netflix, Amazon, and other key software partners on architectural discussions and critical technical discussions
- Represent CommScope Android team, engaging existing customers as well as potential customers
- Provide important technical feedback towards the CommScope Android roadmap, proposal, design and implementation of innovative features
Required Qualifications for Consideration:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 15 years of related work experience in the consumer electronics industry
- At least 5 years of expertise in software architecture design of Android or Android TV based products with an excellent understanding of Android TV architecture, ecosystem, development and the certification process
- Extensive customer engagement experience, strong track record of assisting marketing teams and system engineering teams on customer facing technical discussions
- Proficiency in C/C programming, experience in object-oriented programming and design patterns
- Solid working experience in embedded programming on Linux and Android systems, middleware development and with device drivers
- Strong system integration background and troubleshooting experience, familiar with common troubleshooting tools and device performance analysis tools
- A successful candidate in this role would be hard-working phenomenal teammate with strong interpersonal skills
- Able to travel up to 10% of the time under safe travel conditions.
You will excite us if you have:
- Good knowledge of Video CPE technology, including video/audio coding standards, QAM, and IP video transmission protocols
- Working knowledge of memory optimization, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices is a strong plus
- Experience using GIT, Gerrit, JIRA

Anticipated annual base salary range:
Dependent on experience and qualifications: $150,000 - $200,000
