The Quality Manager Champions quality within the business operations, always with an eye to providing exceptional user experience.
Span of engagement includes the end-to-end product lifecycle: from product development, through volume production, and through the end of service life. You will engage with collaborators throughout the organization including key touchpoints with Supply Chain, Product Line Management (PLM), Customer Service & Support, and both Software (60%) and Hardware (40%) Engineering
The position reports directly to the Vice President Quality of NICS business segment. You will also work closely with a variety of team members including executives.
Previous experience of leading 4 Quality Engineers and 4 matrix-aligned Supplier Quality engineers.
- Is a pro-active, customer focused leader with history of strong engineering/business engagement and base transformation.
- Can concisely communicate to target audiences ranging from Executives (within CommScope and with external customers), peers and subordinates.
- Has demonstrated Quality skills across a broad range such as process improvement, hardware quality and software quality.
- Is Client centered, anticipating and mitigating risks that could affect customers.
Responsibilities:
- Leads Overall Business Quality Performance
- Monitors and drives Business Unit Quality Key Performance indicators such as Product Quality Performance and Service Quality that directly impact customer satisfaction
- Monitors other operational indicators to identify improvement opportunities and engage multi-functional collaborators to meet quality service level.
- Coordinates continuous improvement of Product field quality performance partnering with Customer Service and Support, Engineering, PLM, and Supply Chain.
- Ensures timely issue resolution and customer concern when required.
- Maintains effective and responsive Failure Analysis and Corrective Action processes. Guides' development of tools and processes as applicable.
- Strongly engages with Product Development Process, ensuring effective Advanced Product Quality Planning activities.
- Ensure completion of quality NPI end product and effective quality risk management through systemic use of tools and controls. Management signoff on exceptions
- Support development of a Right First-Time design and production philosophy.
- Engages with multi-functional team to promote Operational Excellence
- Effectively engaged with Supplier Chain and Supplier Quality to ensure effective Supply Chain Quality controls and output are maintained.
- Defines and implements improvement projects aligned with Business and Quality priorities.
- Monitors Quality Management System performance and certification, driving a high degree of business compliance.
- Ensures effective & efficient Quality Engineering resources:
- Self-motivated to finish the tasks required of the job and high attention to detail.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field of study.
- Ten (10) years’ experience in a technical position. consistent record in Quality along with 5 years in supervisor role.
- Effective written and spoken English.
- International travel will be required in this position.(less than 25%)
You'll excite us if you have:
- Familiarity with Quality tools such as: 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, Poke Yoke, SPC, Six Sigma, Kaizen Lean Manufacturing
- Experience in Telecommunications/ Electronics Industry. Specific experience in Wireless devices and/or Switches desired.
- Experience with Software Quality
- Certified Quality Manager or Six Sigma Black Belt
- Working knowledge and application of ISO quality Standards or Certified Quality Auditor
- Familiarity with reliability and qualification programs.
- Experience with supply chain quality improvements, with emphasis on contact manufacturing.
- Change Agent experience
