BARTENDER/SERVER JOB DESCRIPTION
Who We Are:
Communal Coffee started with the desire to provide excellent craft coffee in a well-designed, welcoming environment that fosters community. We're craftspeople who proudly serve Sightglass coffee, natural and biodynamic wines, wine-based cocktails alongside an expanding food menu. We value collaborations with other local creatives and currently have in-shop partnerships with many local businesses. The Opportunity:
The Bartender/Server position at Communal is a team member who has a passion for people, a keen eye for detail, and great communication skills. This position has a heavy focus on wine-based cocktails, a revolving wine list and craft beers while appreciating meaningful connections with guests at their table and making non-alcoholic beverages. Our Oceanside location opened October 2021 anchoring the Tremont Collective. This location has a full espresso bar, kitchen, wine & beer menu, wine based cocktails and retail / floral offerings. It is a hybrid of counter / table service. This position would also include cashiering, barista and server duties.
- Deliver the best experience to every customer, with a friendly and community-oriented attitude.
- Maintain a full grasp of all menu offerings as seasonal items are updated.
- Prepare and serve all beverages and food items consistently.
- Assist with setup, cleanup, side work, and additional tasks.
- Maintain a clean and inviting environment for customers and team members.
- Be able and willing to work primarily afternoon, evening and weekend shifts.
- Support your team in keeping the cafe clean and running smoothly.

Requirements:
Mostly, we want to know that you can get this job done. This means, you have/are:
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year experience in customer service and/or hospitality.
- A strong background and emphasis on customer service.
- Possess a current food handlers card valid for work location.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds above your head.
- Job requires long hours on your feet.
- Repeated motions with hands and wrists (i.e. tamping, pulling shots, steaming milk, shaking drinks)
Position Details:
This is a full-time, hourly non-exempt position. The pay for this position starts at $15 per hour depending on experience and share of tip pool. Benefits include sick time, free drinks, discounts, simple IRA for eligible employees. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) Oceanside.
