Due to continued growth, CommuniCare is recruiting for an experienced leader with Long Term Care experience to fill the key position of Corporate Director of Life Enrichment and Activities Programs.
Purpose/Belief Statement
The Corporate Director of Life Enrichment and Activities Programs will be an energetic and skilled professional who will drive the expansion and enhancement of social, recreational, developmental, and educational programming for residents at all of our communities. The Corporate Director of Life Enrichment and Activities Programs plans and directs CommuniCare’s Resident Activity functions and ensures that activity programs are aligned with CommuniCare’s vision for resident care.

Job Responsibilities
The Corporate Director of Life Enrichment and Activities Programs will lead efforts to:
- Develop and implement comprehensive therapeutic recreation programs and services utilizing staff expertise and family and community resources to meet the psychosocial, physical, and cognitive needs of our residents.
- Develop specialized programs for the dementia population in our various care settings.
- Improve needs identification and assessment processes.
- Increase resident and family participation.
- Identify and/or design and develop new programs.
- Improve and enhance current programming and delivery processes.
- Train leadership and staff members.
We seek a caring and creative individual with superior abilities to communicate, collaborate, and educate. A minimum of five (5) years experience in Activities, Resident Care and / or Recreation in an eldercare environment is required.
Qualifications/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation, or related health care field preferred but not required.
- Current or eligible for certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist is preferred.
- Minimum of five years’ managerial experience in developing and implementing social or recreation program.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills with all levels of employees as well as demonstrated facilitation skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high quality results.
- Strong organization skills.
- MUST be willing to travel
