Risk Contract Manager
Reports to: Director of Strategy & Finance
Organization Summary:
Community Care Cooperative (C3) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, Accountable Care Organization (ACO) governed by Federally Quality Health Centers (FQHCs). Our mission is to leverage the collective strengths of FQHCs to improve the health and wellness of the people we serve. We are a fast-growing organization founded in 2016 with 9 health centers and now serving hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries who receive primary care at health centers and independent practices across Massachusetts. We are an innovative organization developing new partnerships and programs to improve the health of members and communities and to strengthen our health center partners.
Job Summary:
This position provides critical support to the organization in its risk contracting and business development activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assessment of member opportunities to contract through C3; pursuit and negotiation of new payor contracts; contract
management and implementation support; and strategic planning and analysis.
The ideal candidate is local to Massachusetts and has experience with a health care payor and a provider organizations such as an FQHC; experience in business development, and analytical proficiency. This position reports to the Director of Strategy & Finance and works closely with Operations.
Responsibilities:
• Assessment and thorough documentation of health center opportunities, interests, and
concerns related to contracting through C3
• Support the management of procuring new payor arrangements for our network of Federally
Qualified Health Centers and participating health centers
• Assess contract terms, performance metrics, and pricing providing critical insight to the evaluation
and negotiation
• In partnership with Legal, ensure comprehensive contract review and editing
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on key milestones and deliverables for
new contract implementation
• Support the implementation of new payor contracts including project management and
communication
• Ensure excellent communication of contract negotiation process and contract requirements to
internal business owners and FQHCs
• Act as a critical resource in the planning and actualization of new initiatives related to business
growth
• Develop and maintain the annual risk contracting program plan and report on progress,
barriers, and issues proactively to leadership
• Maintain productive relationships with potential and current partners
• Evaluate emerging contracting opportunities, and play a key role in responding to
procurements, as needed
Required Skills:
• 3-5 years of professional experience in the health care industry and/or business development
• Experience with contract review
• Strong analytical skills and experience with financial modeling preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work across an organization and interact with multiple skill sets
• Able to shift gears rapidly in an evolving environment
Desired Other Skills:
• Prior experience with project management
• Familiarity with Massachusetts commercial payors, Medicare risk programs such as MSSP,
Medicare Advantage or Duals, and the MassHealth ACO program
• Familiarity with Federally Qualified Health Centers
• Experience with anti-racism activities, and/or lived experience with racism is highly preferred
Qualifications:
• BA/BS Required
• MBA/MPH/MHA or comparable degree preferred
