Delaware County Advocate - Grove
Hours: Full time - Salaried, $12.50 hour, 40 hour week
Definition:
The Delaware County Advocate shall work under the direction of the Director of Client Services to provide Domestic violence, Sexual assault, and Stalking services in Delaware County area. The Delaware County Advocate shall assist clients with advocacy and support and shall represent CCC in Delaware County.
Duties:
- Provide advocacy, support, and coordination of services for clients to include crisis intervention. Assess client needs and make informed referrals to other community resources. If necessary and availability, arrange for transportation for clients to and from agencies and outside appointments.
- Staff the office in Grove. Assist non-residential clients in Delaware County in obtaining protective orders or other remedies of the legal system, including victim compensation through the DAs office.
- Increase community awareness of DV, SA, and Stalking issues by engagements, presentations, publicity in local newspapers, and special programs.
- Develop relationships with local law enforcement to increase their sensitivity to DV and SA issues and make contact with the victim in earlier stages of the DV and SA situation. Train Law Enforcement with the available CLEET accredited course.
- Responsible for documenting contacts and services for clients according to CCC policy.
- Responsible for rotating Staff On-Call with other designated employees to ensure that sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking crisis service are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Required to attend CCC new hire orientation, Client Advocate meetings, full staff meetings, and in-service training. Must adhere to Continuing Education requirements.
- Facilitate the female Inmate program at the Delaware County Jail according to CCC policy.
- Develop personal safety plans with all adult clients.
- Collaborate and network with local community based organizations, child welfare, mental health provides, etc. to ensure appropriate services for clients.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Understanding and sensitivity toward the issues involved in domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.
Understanding of chemical dependency.

Ability to manage time and work effectively in stressful situations
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Experience working with victims of crime preferred
Pass a national level criminal background check
