Position Summary:
The Community Development Director will lead integration of Asset Based Community Development across Community enCompass. This includes developing partnerships with neighbors and organizations, Urban Immersion, and other community-based programs for the organization. In this role, the individual will consult and partner with other leaders at Community enCompass to support Asset Based Community Development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead neighborhood outreach and asset identification and partnering.
Provide direct supervision of the YEP Director, the MPFH Coordinator, the Farm Manager and the Sacred Suds Lead.
Be an advocate and voice for neighbors. Partner with churches, faith communities, business and other groups to build volunteers and support for the ABCD vision of development.
Identify and recommend neighborhood beautification efforts including assessing new project opportunities and execution of existing commitments.
Develop and maintain project budgets – Purchase or coordinate purchase of supplies based on approved budget.
Work with Community enCompass program leads and Executive Director to build new community relationships and strengthen and expand existing ones with a goal to use local resources to support sustainable community development.
Link funding opportunities and community needs to recommend new partnerships or programs that support the mission and vision of Community enCompass.
In collaboration with the YEP Director, the Farm Manager, the MPFH Coordinator and the Sacred Suds Lead to engage teams of youth and volunteers in partnering activities.
Track and report program outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent on the job experience) in Organizational Management, Human Services or Public Administration.
Five or more years of nonprofit experience
Prior program design, implementation and evaluation experience required including 2 or more years managing lead staff
Demonstrated experience complying with public health and city policies and regulations
Ability to prioritize tasks, follow procedures, and keep accurate records.
Ability to estimate program costs and identify risks on given projects and implement contingency plans based on risk analysis
Volunteer or work experience with an organization serving the community and experience in teaching and working with youth is a plus
Skills and Experience:
Great time management
Self-starter with ability to work with little supervision
Work well with others including sub-contractors, vendors and diverse youth populations
Knowledge of community resources
Excellent verbal and written skills
Is able to utilize sound judgment and make independent decisions
Sensitivity, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude towards those requiring assistance
Ability to manage conflict
Ability to follow detailed directions from manager
Good computer skills
Supervisory/management experience
Professional experience working within a team environment
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and operate basic power tools related to construction/carpentry including, but not limited to, saws, drills, nail guns and the like.
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to drive agency-provided work truck and trailer with equipment to each site
