Description
The Associate Dental Director provides direct dental patient care as well as assisting in overall leadership and administration of the CHC Dental program, including student extern programs. Supports department activities in accordance with accepted national standards, and clinical and administrative policies. Additional responsibilities include:
- Assists in oversight for the provision of dental services within the various health center locations.
- Provides patient care services, including chair side procedures and radiology.
- Working collaboratively with the Dental Director, provides direct clinical oversight of Dentists, Dental Assistants, Dental hygienists and Student Externs. Actively supports, promotes and works to fulfill the mission of the Health Center. Exhibits an appreciation and understanding of the diversity of health center staff and patients.
- Demonstrates by attitude and action recognition of the importance of customer service with patients, visitors, internal customers and medical staff.
- Communicates effectively and respectively with personnel at affiliate offices, physicians, and co-workers. Works as a team member helping others as needed to contribute to the overall success of the organization
- Participates in the hiring and training of new dental staff members.
- Assists in evaluating work performance of staff in relation to quality, cost and patient satisfaction standards.
- Participates in the development of short- and long-range dental service plans and objectives, including strategic and operational goals.
Qualifications
D.M.D. or D.D.S. from an approved dental school and current license to practice Dentistry in the State of Massachusetts. Three to five years’ experience with demonstrated leadership roles or initiatives. The ideal candidate will also have experience in Public Health Dentistry and working with underserved populations.
