SUMMARY: The Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and Grounds Maintenance Assistant performs DME delivery, setup, retrieval, and general landscaping of the Community Home Health & Hospice building and grounds. DME assistant properly educates clients/caregivers on proper use and care of equipment in a variety of community settings. Successful outcomes of this position include prompt delivery/pickup of equipment, excellence in education of clients/family members in proper use and care of equipment and excellent customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
- Valid driver’s license.
- Evidence of good driving record.
- Current automobile insurance with adequate coverage limits in accordance with agency minimums
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Hearing and vision correctible to normal in order to identify and diagnose problems.
- The ability to stand, sit, walk, work hand and foot controls and squat throughout the day.
- The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
- The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously for extended periods of time.
- The ability to move your hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects that may be 25 pounds.
