What are the responsibilities and job description for the Care Pastor position at Community of Faith?
Objective: This position will innovate, shape, oversee, and lead the development and implementation of all aspects of the COF Care Ministry Department.
Responsibilities:
- Support and fulfill the vision, values, and goals of COF through caring for those who come in contact with the church.
- Encourage, intercede, love, listen, counsel, and walk with COF members, attenders, and staff in crisis.
- Visit and pray for COF members, attenders, and staff who are hospitalized.
- Make home visits as needed for COF members and attenders, with a focus on the sick, elderly, and homebound.
- Provide funeral assistance for COF members, attenders, and staff as needed.
- Perform weddings for COF members, attenders, and staff as needed.
- Creatively plan for new ways to provide care and focus on those that are 65 .
- Assist in the managing of the COF Financial Assistance program, walking with COF members and attenders in financial crisis.
- Assist in the ongoing facilitation of COF Grief Groups.
- Pastoral Counseling of COF members, attenders, and staff as needed.
- Cast vision, train, lead and develop COF Care Ministry staff.
- Cast vision, recruit, train, lead and develop COF Care Ministry volunteers.
- Ensure the timely follow-up of all contacts including conversations, PCO workflows, phone calls, emails, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of the pastoral care and benevolence budgets.
- Develop and maintain communication with other ministry teams to ensure a seamless experience for COF Care Ministry.
- Develop and maintain communication with COF staff to serve as a resource for them.
- Anything else assigned by leadership of Community of Faith.
