Job Summary:
CPSFL has an exciting opportunity for a Program Coordinator for a full-time position. The main objective of the Program Coordinator is to lead a top-notch mentoring program that adheres to the highest standards. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the program, which includes overseeing the mentor-mentee matches. Key tasks of the Program Coordinator include recruiting, screening, interviewing, marketing, and training mentors and mentees. Ultimately, their role is to ensure a secure, well-organized, and enjoyable program environment for the participating matches.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field with one year’s experience working in family services programming OR Bachelor’s degree in unrelated field with two years’ experience working in family services OR four years’ experience working in mentoring or volunteering, education, social work, counseling, family and youth services programming, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the minimum requirements listed.
- Must have a valid Florida’s driver’s license in good standing, and must have access to reliable transportation.
- Flexible in work hours including occasional evenings and Saturdays.
- Successful completion of First Aid/CPR training.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and activities for the mentoring program, specifically for youth grades K through 5.
- Knowledge of Mentoring or volunteering programming and “Best Practices” that will ensure high quality program standards.
- Ability to develop and implement programming that positively and effectively supports youth development and leadership.
- Knowledge of appropriate behavior management practices and techniques for youth of all ages.
- Ability to think analytically, use critical thinking skills and employ good judgment.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- OUTREACH: Conducts recruitment and outreach of mentors from the community members and college students.
- TRAINING: Conducts training for mentors and mentees including, orientation session for parents, mentees, mentors and ongoing training on topics to support the mentor/mentee match.
- TEAM PLAYER: Works as a team member and follows program goals and plan of action.
- EVENT PLANNING: Organizes and facilitates groups, field trips, cultural activities and community projects for mentees and mentors, according. Coordinates special events such as Recruitment Fairs, Back to School events, mentor recognition, etc.
- DATA COLLECTION: Screens and completes assessment on all mentors.

Compensation: $19.27/hr
