JOB PURPOSE:
The On-Call Family Facilitator is responsible for responding to phone calls, crises, and transportation after hours and on the weekends on behalf of the organization. This position is paid for hours worked and will receive a $100 stipend when placed on the weekend rotation (Saturday and Sunday). The On-Call Family Facilitator will use principle-based de-escalation to support youth and foster parents anywhere with any issues; avoid the wrong response which can make the situation worse and always remain in control. This will help to preserve placement, it will help youth and families to work through crises, and it will strengthen the relationship between youth and foster parents.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Respond to phone calls and crises after hours, including weekends
- Create incident reports to document all incidents and/or crises
- Documentation of all interactions with clients on paper and/or in computer databases
- Provide support and coach families in developing helpful parenting skills, stress management and other types of training to family members, including role-modeling techniques and practices.
- Provide transport for respite, doctor appointments, and emergencies after hours and on weekends.
- Provide education for parents on how to access emergency assistance, supports, and community resources.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and Education:
- Family Facilitator’s must be 21 years or older
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience working with children and families
- Knowledge and understanding of family dynamics and family-centered services.
- The ability to relate well with families of varied lifestyles, backgrounds, and ethnicities.
- Knowledge of and ability to access community resources
- Experience in cultural diversity, substance abuse, effects of child abuse and neglect on child development, sexual abuse, mediation, and other interventions.
- Flexibility in scheduling (afternoon, evening, and weekend availability), and willingness to drive to different cities, and work primarily within the homes/communities of the families.
- Reliable transportation, including proof of insurance, a vehicle safety check, and an acceptable driving record.
- Maintain a personal cell phone for client contact (partially reimbursed through agency stipend)
- WA State driver’s license
- Must have and maintain Right Response Certification (training available)
- Maintain 30 hours of on-going education training per year.
Working Conditions:
- The On-Call Family Facilitator will work remotely, in the office environment, and/or may be called to respond to crisis in non-standard workplaces.
- The On-Call Family Facilitator works after hours and weekends for on-call emergency duties. There may be instances when the On-Call Family Facilitator may be required to work during the day to attend meetings and trainings.
