The position requires 2 years' experience as an Athletic Trainer and a bachelor’s degree or higher in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field.
Description
Reporting to the Director of Athletic Operations, this position provides Athletic Training Services (ATS) to student athletes under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act. ATS are defined as the practice of injury prevention and provision of care of injuries to a physically active person as defined in the state practice act with the direction of a licensed physician; including rendering of emergency care, development of injury prevention programs, providing appropriate preventative equipment, assessment, management, treatment, rehabilitation and recondition of the physically active person whose conditions are within the professional preparation and education of a certified athletic trainer. Additionally, the Athletic Trainer will monitor the use of modalities such as mechanical stimulation, heat, cold, light, air, water, electricity, sound, massage and the use of therapeutic exercises, reconditioning exercise and fitness programs.
This position will also oversee sports facilities, security planning and event set-up for all athletic home contests to include supervision as directed by Director of Athletic Operations. Other duties include, but are not limited to; in concert with Athletic Staff—ensure student athletes participate in a safe and positive atmosphere with oversight of all game-day preparations, coordinate practice space and facility use, help coordinate officials to ensure proper staffing of home contests and adhere to current FHSAA compliance, rules and policies. As directed by the Strength and Conditioning Director, coaching, teaching and organization for weight room activities.
