Overview
The Grants Manager is responsible for CommUnityCare’s portfolio of prospective and current funders and grant agreements. The position requires the grant manager to balance multiple projects, proposals and deadlines and maintain high awareness of the internal workings of the organization to identify funding opportunities. The Grants Manager’s scope of responsibility extends from research to letters of inquiry to drafting and submission of proposals. The Grant Manager also stewards donors of grants, providing timely reports and compliance. Responsibilities include managing overall grant efforts, optimizing the grant administration process, preparing application and progress reports, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, reviewing grant proposals, engaging with donor agencies, and educating staff on policies and procedures for grant awards. When applying for a grant, the Grants Manager collaborates with other departments to write proposals and letters of inquiry, communicates with granting agencies, tracks the status of requests and submitsevaluation reports to contributors.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties (at least 5 that are non‐negotiable duties and are absolutely pertinent to successfully completing the job without accommodations):
Meets with CommUnityCare executives and program managers to identify funding needs and priorities, to develop proposal strategies and to gather related information. Works closely with Chief Strategy Officer and Grants and Finance teams to research and analyze prospective grantors to align the interests and preferences of funding sources to the strategic needs of CUC. Develop and present recommendations to senior leadership regarding new grant opportunities and existing grant programs. Gathers and/or drafts supporting information and data to prepare letters of inquiry, proposals, and applications for prospects according to grantor guidelines for application. Works with others on Grants team to utilize appropriate software/database to maintain records on potential and current funders regarding meetings, communications, proposals, grants and reports; to utilize appropriatescheduling programs (such as Microsoft Outlook) if not the database, for scheduling and tracking of all LOI’s, proposals, reports, etc. Develops reports on progress status of proposals and grants received, requested, denied and pending; prepares and files periodic management progress reports with grant funding sources in a timely manner; monitors calendar to ensure timely submission of required information. Maintains knowledge of best practices in grant fundraising and trends in the nonprofit and FQHC health care sectors; recommends new/updated grant application strategies as appropriate. Serve as a liaison between the organization and the funders. Work with internal stakeholders to ensure programmatic and financial compliance with regulatory agencies,including provisions of the Federally Qualified Health Center grant administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Prepare budget plans and allocation along with the appropriate department and finance in accordance with grant requirements. Ensure that the funds are utilized in a proper way as planned and budgeted. Collaborate with other organizations to plan and develop programs and activities or improve coordination of existing services. Works with the Communications team to identify and document CUC stories that may be used for funding proposals. Coordinates need for written and other support materials (photographs, etc.) with communications staff andother CUC staff to ensure appropriate materials to accompany proposals and reports. Assist in the development and monitoring of project and/or program budgets. Assist in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures to ensure grant requirements are met. Develop and maintain effective relationships with key staff, the general public, community leaders, community groups, and other governmental organizations. Stay current on local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing funding activities. Ensure all actions, job performance, personal conduct and communications represent CommUnityCare in a highly professional manner at all times. Uphold and ensure compliance and attention to all company policies and procedures as well as the overall mission and values of the organization. Develop and maintain favorable internal relationships and partnerships with co‐workers. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein as may be assigned or delegated.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local grant laws, rules, regulations, grant processes and procedures, as well as cost principles and uniform administrative grant requirements. Good analytical and presentation skills Proficient in identifying opportunities and deliver results accordingly High level of skill at building relationships within the organization and outside the organization. High level of problem solving and decision making skill with an eye toward increasing efficiency. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Skilled at writing, planning and strategizing. Excellent oral and written communication skills including ability to be persuasive; superior writing skills including editing for content, style, and grammar. Proficiency in the use of a computer and commonly used software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimum supervision; to maintain quality control standards; to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions in a clear, concise, and proactive manner, including recognition and resolution of costly errors. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work responsibilities to insure completion of assigned tasks as scheduled. Preferred experience with FQHC grant processes and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Public Policy, Business, Nonprofit Management or a related field.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Public Policy, Business, Nonprofit Management or related field.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years of experience providing grants management to organizations.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Comprehensive grants management experience including environmental trends and changes. 3 years of experience working with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) programs. 3 years of experience coordinating grant funded programs in an outpatient medical setting, organization supporting public health, or a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
