Survey Party Chief

Compass Land Surveyors is looking to hire a survey party chief. Located in Milwaukie, Oregon - This position involves working primarily in the field on projects for public agencies, private clients, and other design professionals. The position involves working in a team environment and may include leading a survey crew.

MINIMUM JOB SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 3 years responsible experience as a field survey technician working on land surveying projects.
• Experience in the use and care of standard electronic survey equipment, including field data management procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of survey principles.
• Possession of valid driver’s license.
• Must possess solid communication skills.
• Must be physically fit.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.

TYPICAL TASKS

• Performs field assignments related to all types of surveys, including boundary, topographic mapping, pipelines, hydrographic, construction and control surveys.
• Accurately operate and maintain survey instruments including levels, GPS devices and total station.
• Performs mathematical calculations. Reads and understands survey map data.
• Takes accurate and clear survey field notes and performs simple note reduction and checking.
• Assists with project research and management of collected survey data used for the preparation of survey maps.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
