Compass, Inc., a progressive non-profit agency supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities located in Beltsville, Md., is seeking a highly skilled, self-starter for the position of Behavior Support Coordinator. This position reports to the Director of Quality Advancement and coordinates behavior support services ensuring supports are in place for the training and implementation of behavior plans, provides on-going staff training regarding behavior support plans and performs as liaison between Behavior Consultants and Compass staff. This position is a hybrid position between working in office and working from home, as well as working in the field and directly interacting with people supported, direct support professionals, house managers, program coordinators, and small groups. All activities must support the mission and strategic goals and objectives of Compass as well as support the Quality Advancement Department’s mission.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Child Development, or another related field. Certification as Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) also required or must be willing and able to complete coursework provided by Compass and all requirements for RBT certification during first 60 days of employment. Mandt Trainer Certification also required or must be willing and able to complete Mandt Instructor Training Certification provided by Compass within 60 days of employment. Minimum of two years’ professional experience implementing behavior support plans and prior professional experience working as a member of an interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and have a keen interest in improving the quality of life for people supported by Compass, Inc.
Compensation and Work Conditions: Competitive salary, excellent benefits. Hours of work are typically 9a-5p. Hybrid remote work from home with some days in the office or in the field. Must have reliable own transportation for visiting other work sites. Mileage reimbursed. Expected to be on rotating call to respond to crises.
