Job Description
High School Diploma or Trade School equivalent is required. An associate or bachelor’s degree in a field of science is desirable
Virginia Wastewater Operators License strongly preferred.
Demonstrates proficiency in the operation of dissolved oxygen meters, pH meters and chlorine analyzers
Strong troubleshooting skills in the areas of pumps, valves, and various wastewater treatment equipment
Ability to make clear, concise, and accurate date entries on worksheets and logbooks to meet state and quality system requirements
Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel with the ability to learn the Delta V Control System
Ability to lift to 75 pounds and comfortable working in a hazardous chemical environment.
Specific Accountabilities Include
Providing 24 hour / 7day operational support for an industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Monitoring influent water flows and making required process control changes to ensure compliance with company policies and all Federal and State regulations.
Monitoring and ensuring efficient operation of the Natural Treatment System.
Ensuring efficient operation of the solid waste system (belt filter press).
Collecting samples, performing chemical and physical analysis, and interpreting data for operational control
Monitoring and controlling stormwater flows to comply with company policies along with Federal and State regulations.
Ensure compliance with all Federal and State regulations and company safety policies.
3 skill sets for an ideal Candidate
Knowledge of basic Laboratory equipment pH meter, DO meter, Colorimeter and Spectrophotometer etc.
Basic computer skill for data entries & CBTtraining (Microsoft Word and Excel)
Wastewater Treatment Plant operations basic experience (any level of Wastewater Operation certification from the government body e.g., Virginia State DEQ)
