Computer Network Support Specialist

Provide support of comprehensive enterprise Touch Labor functions for incident management, account management, problem management, and request fulfillment using USCG ticketing system to resolve tickets that are locally created and transferred to field support from the Service Desk or other support organization. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities 

• Receive and resolve user assistance requests (via phone and USCG ticketing system).  
• Install, move, repair, configure and test hardware, software, and peripherals. 
• Manage distribution lists, security groups; access permissions and shared calendars. 
• Provide support creating and maintaining Certification and Accreditation (C&A) security packages. 
• Maintain disaster recovery procedures. 
• Perform configuration and security compliancy scans and take steps to ensure systems meet requirements. 
• Perform LAN and WAN management including: hardware installation; configuration, patching, and maintenance; internal office cable (copper/fiber) installation and management; monitoring networks; troubleshooting and correcting network outages. 
• Support local servers including installation, configuration, patching, backup, restore and casualty support.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience  

• Demonstrated 4 years of experience providing technical support to analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems, such as local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system. 
• Demonstrated ability to manage the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems 
• Demonstrated ability to monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns. 
• Demonstrated ability to respond to and resolve help desk requests. 
• Demonstrated ability to upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution. 
• Demonstrated ability Install and test computer-related equipment. 
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communications skills. 

Certifications  

• Candidate must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) 
• ITIL Foundation certification is desired 

Security Clearance  

• US Secret (T3) or higher security clearance is required (may start work with Interim Secret)
