What are the responsibilities and job description for the Oracle DBA position at Computronix?
As an Oracle Database Administrator, you will join a highly skilled team of Database Administrators that oversees more than 500 databases in three data centers, multiple client environments, and the public cloud. On this team, you will:
- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle server/client software, and related products.
- Create, upgrade, maintain, secure, and monitor Oracle databases.
- Backup, recover, and duplicate databases using RMAN
- Capacity planning of storage, memory, cpu for database implementations.
- Planning for customer implementations and upgrades.
- Database tuning and sql tuning and other developer support activities.
- Export and import data from and to Oracle databases as required
- Maintain and manage internal, hosted, and on-premises customer databases.
- Ensure compliance with Oracle database licensing.
- Follow, maintain, and manage procedural documentation and standards.
- Perform occasional scheduled off-hour support, installs, patches or upgrade activities.
- Creation, update, resolution of Oracle service requests (SRs)
You are perfect for this role if you have:
- 5 years as an Oracle DBA
- Experience with database version 12c or higher. (preference 11g, 12c, 19c)
- Some knowledge and experience writing SQL queries, PL/SQL stored procedures, functions & packages to solve business problems (preference developer background)
- Understanding of Oracle optimizer, optimizer parameters, parsing mechanism and how optimizer influences in controlling, stabilizing execution plans
- Skill at troubleshooting complex problems
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure
- Experience managing Oracle on Linux and Windows
- Experience using statspack and/or AWR.
Other skills that would be nice to have:
- Oracle Certifications
- Oracle multi-tenant database features.
- RAC, ASM, and/or Dataguard.
- Experience using git for source control
- JIRA and Confluence experience
- Automation and optimization of day-to-day activities
- Unix/Linux knowledge including Shell scripting
