What are the responsibilities and job description for the Die Cast Operator position at CompX Graylake?
CompX Grayslake is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered mechanical and electromechanical locking devices, systems for world class original equipment manufacturers and manufacture of precision instruments, throttles, marine products, and accessories.
Position Requirements:
- Setting up, starting and troubleshooting die case molding machines.
- Ensuring machines are operating effectively and efficiently.
- Checking and testing castings manufactured in a zinc die cast machine to assure conformance with requirements and specifications.
- Measuring and visually inspecting products for surface and dimension defects in order to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers and gauges.
- Turning valves and dials of machine to regulate pressure, temperature, speed, feed rates and to set cycle times.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge, Ability and Physical Requirements:
- High School Diploma, Certification, or some College
- Ability to lift or move up to 25lbs
- Occasionally lift or move up to 50lbs
- Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment
- Constant exposure to moderate noise
- Constantly stand and walk throughout the workday
- Frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material
- Constant use hands/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, or handle and manipulate parts and tools
- Frequent repetitive motions
- Constant requirement of specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
- Constantly wear eye protection
