Your Role

The IT Security Specialist role is an integral part of the Compyl team. Compyl has built a security and compliance product, with much of the value stemming from information security and compliance expertise. In this role, you are working directly with customers to provide them with strategic advice and technical support for security activities, enabling their overall success with Compyl. You will also be required to establish and maintain internal security and technology controls allowing us to provide assurance to our customers that we’re secure.

What will you do as an IT Security Specialist?

• Architect and implement security and infrastructure solutions ensuring compliance to industry frameworks and segregation are maintained at all times.
• Migrate current environment to new architected solutions.
• Enable capacity to monitor changes and automated reporting back to Compyl.
• Document new configurations and security requirements.
• Work with our current and prospective customers to answer any security related questions and help them progress through their journey in maturing their security program.

• Contribute to our customers technology strategy and product selection, considering local compliance requirements and security best practices.

• Understand and assist in improving uptake in COMPYL’s application, Compyl. This will include enabling our customers to get full value from the product.

• Partner with our Customer Success Team to ensure appropriate due-diligence is performed as part of onboarding and ongoing customer success touchpoints.

• Work on transitional projects and security implementations for our customers and teams.

• Partner with other departmental leaders in order to align and execute product strategies and ensure that each department receives the right level of support from the IT Security specialists.

You

• You have a strong technical grounding, with professional experience as a security specialist, an all-rounder if you will.

• You are passionate about Cyber and Information Security, and understand the balance between security and business operations.

• You have a knack for customer relations, feel comfortable providing guidance to technical and non-technical people alike.

• You are looking for a small company environment, where the business is evolving, there are opportunities to progress, and you are relied on to deliver.

• You are passionate about using your technical knowledge and skills to solve real business problems, and are motivated by understanding the value that your work adds.

• Ability to perform data analysis, logical workflow development and build reports.

• Problem-solve potential roadblocks which could potentially impact the financial, strategic, and technical goals of the business.

• You can manage an ever growing list of things to do.
• Finally, this is the most important part. You’re always innovating, this space is always changing and new technology arises almost daily, so you desire to keep up with best practices, changes to frameworks, new technology, and security trends.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical

• A deep understanding of security frameworks and best practices including SOC2, ISO27001, NIST, etc.

• You have a diverse skill set across both advisory and technical security competencies.

Desirable

• You think first about the value that customers will derive from your work, and understand the need for feedback and change.

• You are looking for a small company environment, where the business is evolving, there are opportunities to progress, and you are relied on to deliver.

• You are passionate about using your technical knowledge and skills to solve real business problems, and are motivated by understanding the value that your work adds.

• Subject matter expertise, outstanding communication skills, market knowledge, leadership ability, innovative, strong researching skills, has the ability to think and balance tactical and strategic approaches.

• Experience with B2B SaaS services.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
