SUMMARY
Concrete Technologies, Inc. (CTI) is looking for self-motivated and experienced Concrete Estimator for both our Commercial and Heavy Highway divisions. Estimators are responsible for all aspects of the construction bidding process including sales, estimating, bidding, tracking subcontractor solicitation, labor and productivity analysis, and total project costing. They have excellent communication skills and always represent the company in a friendly and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares accurate, concise, and competitive bids and estimates before deadlines
- Secures multiple vendor/subcontractor quotes, with negotiated pricing, for each division of a bid

Reads, interprets and analyzes construction plans for costing with extreme accuracy

Conducts detailed job cost analysis and review. Knows costs of labor, material, equipment and subcontractors

Project sales and follow up on bids/estimates

Tracks jobs to be bid

Strives for continual improvement and efficiency of the estimating system and process

Maintains detailed knowledge of the market and the competition

Endeavors to maintain crew schedules at full capacity

Owns responsibility for estimating software and maintenance
-
Maintains a database of vendors and subcontractors
-
Effectively passes jobs to project management for efficient production after sale

Ability to bid Iowa DOT and Municipal paving projects complete

All other job-related tasks, as assigned
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma and 2 - 4 years technical school or equivalent

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Proficient skills in Mathematics.

Excellent communication and proofreading skills.

Understanding local market conditions.

Professional, friendly, team player who carries a positive attitude with a get-it-done mentality.

Ability to discuss projects, in their entirety, with customers and vendors.

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and general, non-DOT physical.
