THE COMPANY

Condux International, Inc. is the premier manufacturer of underground and overhead cable installation tools and equipment for the IT, telecom and electric power industries. Condux machines allow safe, quick and easy installation of fiber optic and power cables.


Condux manufactures a wide variety of equipment an installer needs to put fiber optic cable or power cable in the ground or up a pole. With everything from fiber optic blowers to diesel powered underground bull-wheel cable pullers. Condux International is privately owned and has been manufacturing cable installation tools and equipment for over 30 years, working directly with the electrical contracting, electrical utility, IT and telecom industries.


Current Hiring Bonus of $3000


Position Purpose: To provide engineering oversight/ownership of Condux current products catalog.  


Position Summary: To provide engineering oversight/ownership of Condux current products catalog with the goals to reduce product complexity, improve build efficiencies through reimagine/redesign, reduce manufacturing costs by product line, work in concert with Manufacturing Engineering and New Product Engineering on solutions to new and existing products, and update current engineering prints and models to reflect all changes. 


Essential Duties: 

  1. Evaluate and improve current product designs by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials to reduce costs and gain build efficiencies. 
  2. Develop, implement, maintain, and improve current manufacturing processes, including documentation, work instructions, manufacturing training, prints, etc to optimize quality, productivity, and cost performance for current products. 
  3. Interface regularly with the Director of Operations, manufacturing engineers, and New Product Engineers to assure clear and concise communication across teams. 
  4. Identify and implement corrective actions to resolve manufacturing process problems through testing, evaluation, and analysis 
  5. Lead the design for l process, prepares process FMEAs, root cause analyses, plans facility, equipment, and resource changes and initial product builds, and ensure that Manufacturing deliverables to Development Project Plans are completed and on time 
  6. Plan, specify, select, validate, and implement new equipment, processes and facilities in manufacturing 
  7. Perform planning, development, facilitation of design and installation of high-volume Manufacturing equipment, systems, and processes 
  8. Engage with the appropriate personnel in the identification and resolution of Corrective/Preventative actions to address Safety, Quality, Technical, and Manufacturing issues 
  9. Control pilot projects (document issues, materials)

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements: 

  1. Bachelor’s in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering 
  2. At least 3 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer/Mechanical Engineer 
  3. Strong team player skills and interpersonal skills 
  4. Dependable, versatile, flexible and team oriented 
  5. Familiarity with manufacturing processes, machining, welding, castings, additive manufacturing 
  6. Good communication skills 
  7. Developing project management skills 
  8. Strong CAD skills, CREO preferred 
  9. MS Office Suite proficiency – outlook, word, excel, and project 
  10. Developing proficiency with FMEA, DFMAT, Root cause analysis, Poka-Yoke, SPC, GD&T 
  11. Experience with ERP 
  12. Microsoft SharePoint Proficiency 
  13. ISO 9001 experience preferred 

Physical Demands: 

  1. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds 
  2. Must be able to work in a production environment  
  3. Must be able to lift, push, pull, stand, bend, kneel, twist, and move without restrictions 
  4. Must be able to work in standing, sitting, and walking positions for various lengths of time

Working Conditions:  

  1. Adheres to the time and attendance requirements as established by the Director of Operations. 
  2. Conditions will vary from office to production environments  
  3. Overtime as required and/or needed
