THE COMPANY
Condux International, Inc. is the premier manufacturer of underground and overhead cable installation tools and equipment for the IT, telecom and electric power industries. Condux machines allow safe, quick and easy installation of fiber optic and power cables.
Condux manufactures a wide variety of equipment an installer needs to put fiber optic cable or power cable in the ground or up a pole. With everything from fiber optic blowers to diesel powered underground bull-wheel cable pullers. Condux International is privately owned and has been manufacturing cable installation tools and equipment for over 30 years, working directly with the electrical contracting, electrical utility, IT and telecom industries.
Current Hiring Bonus of $3,000
Position Purpose: Manages manufacturing personnel, processes, safety, and metrics to achieve company goals.
Position Summary: The Operations Manager will be responsible for achieving the company productivity, efficiency, quality, budget, safety, and revenue goals through the effective management of personnel, processes, and capital equipment throughout the production facility. This role will work extensively with the Sr. Supply Chain Manager to align labor/production output with the supply/capacity plan set forth by the planning team. The Operations Manager will coach/lead the production supervisors through KPI/goal setting for each department and tracking progress and will exercise authority over personnel actions for supervisors' direct reports. This role will work extensively with Manufacturing Engineering on plant efficiency and capital equipment projects to align them with the current and future state of the business.
Essential Duties:
Management of the Manufacturing Processes and Teams
a. Follow up on activities and current projects and coordinate with other department leaders
b. Full accountability and ownership of your team’s development, projects follow-up, execution of projects ensuring Condux’s safety and quality standards are met
c. Creates and leads a safety culture within the departments
d. Assures that Departments run at highest efficiency and optimal utilization of personnel and machines
e. Maintain timecards and approves for overtime
f. Hire, train, and assess the performance of workers
g. Support Workers as questions, concerns, or feedback arises
h. Ensure workers and equipment meet performance and safety requirements
i. Communicate with other departments, such as the financial department to establish budgets, HR department to hire new workers, and logistics to ensure the delivery of products
j. Provide Shift to Shift communication to link all team members working towards the same goals
k. Perform Duties assigned by the Director of Operations
Executes the Production Schedule
a. Works in coordination with the planning department for prioritization of most efficient workflow and utilization of personnel and machines
b. Provides feedback to the planning department
c. Manages daily production activities for the machining, assembly, paint, fabrication, and welding departments
Quality Control
a. Follows Quality departments needs and be compliant with ISO 9001
b. Supports quality department by providing feedback and bringing any attention to any issues or processes going well
Process Improvement
a. Look for opportunities to improve operations
b. Suggest and plan for opportunities for change in the production area
Administration
a. Analyze production data and optimize for efficiencies and utilization
b. Write production reports
Manage and Maintain a Clean Work Environment
a. Manage and Lead department to minimize clutter
b. Manage and Lead department to prevent trip hazards
c. Manage and Lead department to ensure the ground is dry and free of scrap and metal particles
Lead Department to Keep Workstations/Tools Clean and Organized in a Lean 5S Program
a. Sort – Separating tools, parts, and instructions
b. Set In Order – Organizing tools, parts, and instructions neatly and identify for ease of use
c. Shine – Clean-up work area with chemical products and sweeping
d. Standardize – Regularly cleaning and maintenance
e. Sustain – Make this process habitual and a part of everyday
Essential Areas of Responsibility:
1. Manage, supervise, and lead Production Employees and Processes
2. Proficient in implementing Lean Principles: Problem Solving, Flow, Standard Work, Kanban, 5s
3. Reports directly to the Director of Operations

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field to Manufacturing and/or relevant experience
2. 5-7 years of relevant experience and demonstrated success
3. 3-5 years of people management experience
4. Proficient in MS Office, ERP, and blueprint/engineering-drawing reading
5. Must have proficient knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principals in theory and practice
6. Ability to work in a collaborative Team Environment
7. Ability to operate hand jack/pallet truck etc.
8. Ability to operate cranes, jib cranes and hoists

Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
