REQUIRED: Certified as Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by Medical Dosimetry Credentialing Board OR Certified as RT (T) by American Registry of Radiation Technologist with 24 months on the job training in Medical Dosimetry under the supervision of Medical Dosimetrist, Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist. BS Degree in Medical Physics or the Physical Sciences, Master of Science in Medical Physics or related field. MS Degree plus three years clinical experience in medical physics. Certified as Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by Medical Dosimetry. Should be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Radiology.
JOB SUMMARY: Must be specialized in the application of physics in Radiation Oncology. Is a technical supervisor of the Radiation Oncology Division. Responsible for treatment plans, personnel dosimetry, machine calibrations and any other area that concerns the application of medical physics. Must possess competent clinical and interactive skills with adult and geriatric patients. Designs radiation treatment plans for radiation oncology patients. Specialist in calculating and measuring radiation doses based on equipment parameters and patient dimensions. Works under the direction of the Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist. Must have the competence and skills to work with adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
