Now Hiring! We are seeking an experienced Planner/Scheduler with experience in manufacturing to join a well-established manufacturing company specializing in the production of gears.
Position Summary (Direct Hire)
Plan, schedule and coordinate the efficient manufacture and movement of products from raw material to customer delivery. Utilize the company’s ERP and Advanced Planning and Scheduling systems to create production plans and detailed schedules. Work closely with Supply Chain and Production management to ensure materials availability, optimal productivity, and schedule compliance. Serve as an advisor/analyst to plant management to help them lead a highly efficient manufacturing facility.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as a primary point of contact for and liaison between sales, logistics, and manufacturing departments. Collaborates with these departments to establish schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs
- Initiate ordering of raw material through purchasing to support ERP within authorized inventory levels to assure adequate raw material lead-times to meet customer delivery requests; uses judgment to anticipate demand for, and to acquire, additional supplies as needed.
- Work with Master Scheduler and Supply Chain Manager to develop long-range raw material plans based on sales backlog and forecasts, inventory objectives and plant capacity.
- Identify and track material shortages in relation to the master schedule. Track the status of parts to ensure they are progressing to meet established schedules. Contact the appropriate management to resolve issues.
- Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of raw materials, supplies, equipment, and personnel as needed to meet delivery dates.
- Maintains master distribution schedule for our facilities; revises as needed and alerts appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays.
- Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with production, shipping, purchasing, and customer service staff.
- Perform job duties for multiple product lines. Work with other departments (i.e., customer service, engineering, production, and logistics team) to maintain high quality and on time delivery to customer.
- Plan for and release work orders to meet requirements for customer sales orders, forecast items, internal orders, repair orders and engineering development needs.
- Monitor the change control process, identify schedule impact of proposed changes, and incorporate those impacts into the work plan.
- Analyze potential past due orders and the reason/action required to reduce or eliminate issues.
- Manage and maintain customer portal.
- Maintain up-to-date schedules and reschedule work as necessary.
- Initiate replacement orders for lost, damaged, or discrepant items.
- Prepare and review travelers for assigned product lines for technical accuracy.
- Coordinate with engineering department about any drawing or revision changes, update and participate in the data maintenance within the ERP system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education
- Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience as determined by management
Experience:
- 5 or more years of material planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working for metal fabrication and/or machining companies is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience using ERP and/or Advanced Planning and Scheduling systems

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Experience:
- MRP system: 3 years (Preferred)
