We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. Bookkeeper responsibilities include keeping financial records updated and working closely with our accounting team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices. You will run accounting software programs to process business transactions: accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. A successful bookkeeper should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers. Ultimately, a successful bookkeeper will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Constantly update job knowledge
- Other related tasks as assigned
Skills
- Proven bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable clerk or Accounts Payable clerk
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets, financial reports, and proprietary software
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Well organized
- High school degree
- Associate’s degree, BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, or relevant certification is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
