A private equity holdings group located in Longmont, Colorado seeks a Controller. This position requires an individual who enjoys being a working manager.
With two support personnel to supervise, this position provides companies with critical financial and analytical support. Operating with discretion and efficiency, they are expected to work closely with the HR and IT teams to become a trusted advisor to the owner of the Group, as they will be privy to all the workings of the company.
Key to their success will be their ability to have successful relationships with the various business leaders to provide them with information and direction that will enable the leaders to achieve their goals and support a culture of integrity, teamwork, and accomplishment. The candidate must be qualified and willing to work in all phases (full charge) of accounting with the various manufacturing and service companies. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to success.
This position requires a self-starter who enjoys responsibility. The individual will perform the month-end close and deliver timely and accurate financial statements. They will coordinate with the audit firm to complete the annual reviews and provide all support documents, schedules, and reconciliations. Additionally, they control general ledger maintenance, banking, audit and tax relationships, treasury and cash management, sales and use tax filings, budgeting, and reporting. They will be tasked with supporting and originating operational improvement projects for all groups. Being a buy-and-hold equity group, there will be acquisitions that will require their expertise, leadership, and guidance.
The position requires a BS in Accounting with a minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and knowledge/ability to complete intercompany manual journal transactions. Being a CPA and having worked at an accounting firm is a plus. The individual must have strong computer knowledge and aptitude in working with ERP business systems (preferably NetSuite), Excel, and Word. Strong GAAP understanding with practical application experience is required. If interested, please attach your resume along with salary expectations.
