Job Description:
The Director of Facilities is a senior member of the team, responsible for designing and maintaining the Company’s facilities to meet the highest industry standards. This includes but is not limited to HVAC and mechanicals, power generation, AC and DC Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), Security systems, and facility environmental monitoring. Director of Facilities will source and manage contractors to perform maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architect data center and network POP facilities
- Source vendors to perform facilities maintenance and upgrades
- Develop, document and implement maintenance plans for all facilities, and Facility systems (DC Plant, Battery plant, HVAC, Fire Suppression, backup power, etc.)
- Create written Design Packages to include detailed implementation project plans and procedures
- Coordinates internal and contracted resources to implement plans.
- Maintain utility and vendor contact list.
- Maintain facilities document repository that a identifies all locations, contracts, capabilities, etc.
- Manage all existing leases and renewals for facilities managed by the team.
- Coordinate real estate communications for new leases and renewals.
- Track and approve all billing related to facilities.
- Develop and track key performance indicators for Facilities management
- Author quality assurance testing procedures, Change Management requests/Methods of Procedure
- Act as an escalation contact during large outages, performing root cause failure analysis.
- Identify and recommend hardware and support solutions based on research and analysis of new technologies.
- Provide technical expertise to sales engineering teams during complex customer opportunities.
- Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to the company.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:
Must have thorough understanding of a variety of concepts, practices, procedures, and theory with detailed knowledge of facility management, design, and maintenance. Additionally, must have experience architecting telecom and data center facilities, contractor selection processes and management. Ability to communicate professionally through all types of media with associates, management, contractors, and vendors. Must have strong work ethic, be well organized, and reliable. Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness. Understanding of inside plant construction requirements and Central Office (GR-1275), Blue Book, and NESC standards preferred but not required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering plus a minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Estimated base salary between $130,000 and $165,000 annually. Pay ranges represent a good faith annual estimate at the time of the job posting. Actual pay will be based on multiple factors including experience, skill sets, location, internal equity, and market rates.
