Position Details

Responsible for the proactively managing of the facilities planning and maintenance of our Bedford, MA building & processes. This facilities leadership role will work with various stakeholders, including Corporate Real Estate, Environmental Health, and Safety (EHS), Manufacturing Operations and others to plan, budget, schedule, and oversee facility maintenance activities and modifications.

Primary Responsibilities

· Maintains building, including plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities. Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions.

· Works with EHS and Operations leaders to maintain all ISO certifications.

· Designs and develops facility policies relevant to the department.

· Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout.

· Plans, budgets, and schedules facility maintenance and modifications, including cost estimates and obtaining competitive quotes for vendors.

· Initiate planned maintenance programs for a variety of office equipment.

· Responsible for preventive maintenance of facility equipment, including HVAC, office equipment, major and minor appliances, plumbing, electrical, compressor, emergency-generator, trash compactors, building envelope, wastewater treatment equipment, water runoff equipment, generators, gym equipment, life safety equipment, etc.

· Oversees Cleaning, Security and Maintenance of Facility, including landscaping, snow removal, treating icy sidewalks & parking lots, pest control, interior cleaning and supply services, cleanroom cleaning, etc.

· Build and maintain a schedule of all services and programs in support of the building and its equipment, which is clear what, where, and when services are being performed, including appropriate contacts and contract terms.

· Develop and administer annual facilities budget.

· Performs role as Environmental Management System (EMS) Facility Supervisor.

· Negotiates contracts with and supervises all outside contractors.

· Assuring all outside contractors review and abide by “EHS Policy and Procedure Manual for Contractors”

· Participates in the onsite safety program.

· Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the department.

General Tasks

· Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety, and environmental regulations.

· Implementation of the instructions of the quality / EHS management representative(s).

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (BS) or equivalent; or seven plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Able to read and understand complex electrical, mechanical and automation systems.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Intermediate skills: Ability to navigate and use internet/intranet and other programs such as the MS Office package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, or Company-wide cross functional Enterprise Resource Planning software.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Intermediate Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

REASONING ABILITY: Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Certified Facility Manager a plus.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years managing a facility with supervisory experience
  • Experience in an ISO certified facility
  • Experience in maintenance trades, business codes
  • Require strong supervisory skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management skills required
  • Ability to multi-task

Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
