Hours
This position is hourly, full time, with 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day expected between the facility hours of 8:30am-8:30pm. Actual times worked can be flexible dependent on gym needs. The Gym Manager is expected to communicate their planned weekly schedule with the Owner and update the Owner in advance of any changes.
Duties
- Provide supervision, leadership and guidance to coaching and office staff.
- The Gym Manager must learn all duties of coaching and office staff.
- Assist with recruitment, screening, hiring and training of new employees.
- Plan, develop, implement, evaluate and analyze all programs with in Jump Start Gymnastics including but not limited to: Gymnastics, Tumbling, Special Events, Birthday Parties, etc.
- Research new program ideas, and recommend suggestions to the Owner for program improvement.
- Seek out customer input and investigate complaints.
- Instruct and coach classes, special events, birthday parties, etc. as needed.
- Track session and annual enrollment numbers.
- Plan, develop and implement marking campaigns including but not limited to social media posts, updating website, career fairs, local parades, etc.
- Plan, develop and coordinate camps and clinics throughout the year.
- Provide office coverage as needed, including but not limited to answering inbound phone calls, making outbound phone calls, sending emails to clients, completing daily office tasks.
- Assist the Head Coach in ensuring coaching staff are certified in all required areas, completing lesson plans and continued education.
- Assist the Head Coach in equipment safety checks.
- Ensure cleanliness of the gym and facility upkeep.
The Ideal Candidate:
The candidate would be responsible and reliable with exceptional oral communication, interpersonal and leadership skills and be customer service focused. They would be creative, innovative and a self- starter who is action and solution oriented. Would know how to delegate tasks and track progress while creating a positive and enthusiastic work environment.
Not required but preferred education would include previous coaching experience, previous supervisor/managerial or leadership experience, proficient with technology.
Preferred but can be obtained after hire:
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- USA Safety Certified
- Additional USAG Certifications
Compensation
Starting pay $20/hour
Paid Time Off package after probationary period
Physical & Environmental Considerations
Frequent standing, sitting, typing. Occasional balancing, climbing, kneeling, crawling, running and walking. Strength requirements include being able to lift up to 50 lbs. (spotting of students, materials or equipment). Normal gym conditions may include light and temperature variations, exposure to noise, dust, and gymnastics chalk and elevation.
