We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Life Care Planner to join our team, specializing in personal injury cases. As a Life Care Planner, you will play a crucial role in assessing the future care needs and associated costs for individuals who have sustained personal injuries. You will work closely with attorneys, insurance companies, and healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive life care plans that address the medical, rehabilitative, and support needs of injured individuals.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough assessments of individuals who have sustained personal injuries, including reviewing medical records, consulting with healthcare professionals, and conducting interviews with the injured individuals and their families.
2. Evaluate the current and future medical, rehabilitative, and support needs of the injured individuals, taking into consideration their specific injuries and the impact on their daily functioning and quality of life.
3. Research and analyze the costs of medical treatments, assistive devices, medications, therapies, home modifications, and other necessary services to determine the projected expenses associated with the individual's care plan.
4. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as physicians, therapists, and specialists, to gather expert opinions and recommendations regarding the injured individual's treatment and care needs.
5. Prepare detailed life care plans that outline the recommended treatments, therapies, assistive devices, and support services required by the injured individual throughout their lifetime.
6. Provide expert testimony and support during legal proceedings, depositions, and mediation sessions, explaining the rationale behind the life care plan and the associated costs.
7. Stay updated on current medical advancements, research, and best practices in life care planning and personal injury management to ensure the provision of accurate and evidence-based recommendations.
8. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of assessments, research findings, life care plans, and other relevant information in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare management, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
2. Certification in Life Care Planning (CLCP) or similar certification is highly desirable.
3. Previous experience in life care planning, personal injury management, or a related field is required.
4. In-depth knowledge of medical conditions, treatments, and rehabilitation protocols related to personal injuries.
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate medical records, research, and data to make informed decisions.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, attorneys, insurance professionals, and injured individuals and their families.
7. Attention to detail and the ability to prepare accurate and comprehensive life care plans.
8. Proficiency in using computer software and technology tools for research, data analysis, and report writing.
9. Familiarity with legal and ethical standards related to life care planning and personal injury cases.
