HOUSE MANAGER / NANNY POSITION
Summary: Busy family in McLean seeks an experienced provider who can both manage the house and care for an 8-year old daughter. She is in school until 3:15, so the much of the time will be spent on house management rather than child care – with the exception of days or weeks where there is no school/camp or during the summer.
House Manager Role: Looking for someone who can perform the following tasks
- Grocery shopping
- Dry cleaning, returns, and other errands
- Ordering and restocking home goods (e.g., paper towels, TP, water, coffee, etc.)
- Opening and putting away packages
- Coordinating and supervising home maintenance (e.g., exterminator, landscaping, HVAC, pool maintenance, maids, etc.)
- Organizing and liquidating
- Light housekeeping and dishes
- Laundry for child
- Cooking one day a week (preferred)
Child Care Role: Seeking an experienced provider who can perform the following tasks
- School pick up (@ 3:15pm) & once a week drop off (@ 8:25am)
- Child care from 3:15pm-7:00pm to include: after school activity drop off and pick up; after school play dates and other excursions when no scheduled activity; homework help (as needed); evening shower and PJs.
- Availability for full-day child care on sick days, snow days, school holidays, summer weeks where no camp, etc.
- Encourage activity and healthy eating
- Willingness to organize play dates and fun activities
- All child-related tasks around the house (e.g., laundry, organizing play areas, keeping room clean, packing and unpacking, etc.)
Schedule: The childcare hours are from 3:15 to 7 pm and those are set hours with little flexibility. The remainder of the 40 hours are largely flexible, as most of the house management tasks do not have to be done at set hours. However, flexibility is needed on our end given our busy schedules. We are looking for someone who has the ability to come a little early/stay a little late when necessary and who can be available in the event of a sick day, snow day, or other unanticipated change in schedule. Some weeks will be longer hours than others. However, It is not anticipated that more than 40 hours per week will be needed except on no-school weeks and, of course, overtime will be paid.
Must Haves:
