What are the responsibilities and job description for the Onsite Micros Programmer position at Confidential?
Our client is in search for a Full-Time Micros Programmer responsible for all functionality and programming their point-of-sale system. This position will be responsible for the programming accuracy of all menus, pricing, keys, software and hardware setup for Micros Simphony II. The Micros Programmer will work closely with the Financial Manager and all Department Managers to ensure that all point-of-sale functions meet company standards and compliance. This position has seasonal supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Programs all menu items, pricing, and terminal keys for the system through EMC.
- Responsible for all hardware setup to ensure that all terminals/printers are online and operational.
- Prepares and executes point-of-sale training sessions for seasonal and operational employees.
- Responsible for the creation of all point-of-sale training manuals.
- Oversees all point-of-sale software upgrades and ensures the execution based on given timelines.
- Troubleshoots hardware and software issues while also assisting the staff with transactional errors and corrections.
- Plans and coordinates, appropriately. Prepares in accordance with the day-by-day schedule through racing, horse sale, and special event seasons.
- Provides recommendations to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of patron transactions.
- Sets up service requests with Oracle Support for all issues and troubleshooting that can’t be resolved in house.
- Coordinates walkthroughs with their IT team to ensure connectivity at terminals.
- Assists in other areas as needed.

- Experience with Micros Simphony II, required
- Must have experience in Food Service and/or purchasing to be considered.
- Experience with Yellow Dog software preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write short correspondence, and memos.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient computers skills are required to accommodate all reporting and correspondence. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point is a plus.

Salary range: $65-75k DOE
